Generating Tax Filing Files
Describe your withholding tax or VAT filing to the agent, and it generates a filing file (.enc) ready to upload directly to Korea’s HomeTax electronic filing system. Instead of entering each item by hand on the HomeTax site, you can convert data already organized in a sheet straight into a filing file.
This is different from retrieving sales/purchase records via the HomeTax connector. Here, the agent goes the other direction and generates a submission file from what you want to file. Both features use the same certificate, so registering it once covers both.
What Filings Can Be Generated?
- WHT (withholding tax): withholding filings for salary, business income, etc.
- VAT (value-added tax): sales/purchase VAT filings
Prepare the data to file
Show the agent the organized data in your sheet (payroll details, sales/purchase records) and tell it which tax type to file.
"Generate a withholding tax filing file from this sheet's payroll data"
"Generate this quarter's VAT filing file from the sales and purchase records"The agent checks the required fields
The agent checks which fields the tax type requires and fills each one from your sheet data. If a field is missing or the format doesn’t match, it tells you before generating the file.
Generate and download the filing file (.enc)
Once validation passes, an .enc file is generated and a download button automatically appears in the chat.
Actually Filing on HomeTax
The generated file isn’t submitted from within Gridie. You still need to complete the final upload step yourself.
- Log in to HomeTax
- Search for the relevant filing page (e.g., “원천세 신고”, “부가세 신고”)
- In the 파일변환신고 (file-conversion filing) menu, upload the downloaded
.encfile
Tax filing takes legal effect as soon as it’s submitted. Always double-check the filing contents on the HomeTax screen before uploading.
