Workbook

Gridie’s workbook is the basic unit for storing data by project or work unit, equivalent to a single spreadsheet file. Follow the guide below to create new workbooks, organize them into folders, and utilize file upload and download.

For large datasets or relational data spread across multiple linked tables, use a table instead of a workbook. To present your data as a report or dashboard document, use a page.

Creating a Workbook

  • Clicking the New Workbook button opens an empty sheet immediately.
  • You can change the workbook name by clicking the title at the top.
  • Workbook permissions follow the permissions of the folder the workbook belongs to.

Uploading Files

  • You can upload Excel files or CSV files from your computer to Gridie.
  • You can also upload by dragging and dropping files from your computer onto the left workbook list or onto the desired folder.
  • If a file with the same name already exists, copy is automatically appended to the filename to distinguish it.

Copying · Deleting Workbooks

  • Copying a workbook creates an identical workbook in the current folder.
  • Deleting a workbook also deletes all AI Notes written in that workbook.
  • To undo the agent’s work, restore an earlier point from version history instead of deleting.

Downloading Workbooks

  • Click the export button at the top right of the workbook to download it as an Excel (xlsx), CSV, or PDF file.
  • Or you can select multiple workbooks from the left workbook list to download them in bulk (as xlsx).

Organizing with Folders

  • Clicking the New Folder button creates a new folder.
  • You can organize workbooks by collecting them. Drag and drop a workbook onto the desired folder to move it there.
  • Dragging and dropping files onto the sidebar list or a specific folder starts the upload immediately.
  • In workspaces with other people, you can set permissions at the folder level to work together.
  • Be careful: deleting a folder also deletes all workbooks in that folder.

Just organizing workbooks and folders well can significantly speed up your work.
