Workbook
Gridie’s workbook is the basic unit for storing data by project or work unit. Follow the guide below to create new workbooks, organize them with folders, and utilize file upload and download features.
Creating a workbook
- Click the New Workbook button to immediately open an empty sheet.
- Newly created workbooks start with an empty name, so click the top title to enter your desired name.
- When you first create a workbook, it’s saved in local mode, and synchronization starts automatically when you save the name.
Importing files
- Click the
Add Workbook (xlsx, csv)button to upload multiple Excel and CSV files at once. - Drag and drop files onto the sidebar list or a specific folder to start uploading immediately.
- You can check upload progress and success status in the sidebar, and completed files are automatically added to the workbook list.
Organizing with folders
- Use the
Add Folderbutton to create folders by work or topic. - Drag workbooks to folders, or drop files onto folder items to organize them immediately.
- Each folder supports
Rename,Write AI Note, andDelete Foldermenus. Note that deleting a folder also deletes all workbooks inside it.
Workbook management features
- Rename: Click the top title and press Enter to save changes. Duplicate names cannot be used within the same folder.
- Download: Click the download icon next to the title to save the current workbook as an
.xlsxfile. - Delete: Select delete from the
⋯menu on a workbook item to remove it from the list, and the AI agent will no longer reference it. - Write AI Note: Leaving a note on a workbook allows the conversational agent to reference that background information for more accurate responses.
Local mode and online mode
- Toggle between
Local↔Onlinemodes using the chain icon in the workbook header. - Local mode: Data is stored only in the browser and not uploaded to the server. Suitable for personal data or temporary calculations.
- Online mode: Changes are automatically synchronized with the server, allowing you to continue working on any device.
Frequently asked questions
- I want to clear all sheets → Click the eraser icon in the workbook header to reset the current sheet.
- Uploaded file names are duplicated → If the same name exists in the same folder, it’s automatically distinguished with a
… copyformat. - Large workbooks are slow → Close unused workbooks and only keep necessary ones open to maintain performance.
Organizing workbooks and folders well can significantly speed up your work. Manage frequently used files in online mode, and store confidential materials in local mode for safe use.
