Quick Edit Tool
Quick Edit is a feature that lets you enter commands directly on the sheet to instruct the AI to immediately modify specific areas. You can quickly process requests like “change this range like this” without separate chat.
Opening Quick Edit
- Drag to select 2 or more cells on the sheet to select an area.
- Click the
Quick Editbutton from the QuickMenu that appears near the selected area, or - Press the shortcut
⌘/Ctrl + Jto open the edit window immediately.
Entering and executing commands
- Write your desired command in natural language in the input field that appears.
- Examples: “Add comma separators for thousands to the numbers in the selected range”, “Add a summary row using this table”
- Press
Enteror click theExecutebutton to send the command, and results are immediately reflected on the sheet. - A loading icon and progress status are displayed during execution.
Checking results and follow-up actions
- Values changed by the AI and surrounding context information are displayed as guidance messages, and recorded in the chat window if needed.
- If additional modifications are needed, you can continue entering commands in the same window.
- If a “Please review” (Stay Reason) message appears, check if the changes are correct and give the command again.
Frequently used methods
- Adding summary rows or applying conditional formatting to selected tables
- Format changes for numeric data, unmerging, inserting rows/columns
- For complex transformations, instruct “organize with SQL” and the AI will call the necessary tools to organize it.
