We're training AI to be an accountant.

Finance infrastructure that runs itself once it's set up.

It started on the ground.

Over 15 years as a CPA, working inside and alongside more than 50 companies across 6 countries, we learned that the same problems keep repeating. At the very moment a decision needs to be made, the data is nowhere to be found. Eight out of ten hours that finance teams and accountants spend are spent repeating the same work under different company names and different department names. And the most important monthly report only lands in your hands two or three weeks after the month is already over.

This wasn't a problem of any one company, or any one role. It was the same structural problem, hitting finance teams who produce the numbers and accountants who organize and close them, at the same time. Gridie is a company that started on top of that problem.

AI stops at 50%.

After a year of plugging AI into real-world work, our conclusion is simple. AI stops at the level of a smart intern. It classifies but doesn't take responsibility; it drafts but doesn't judge. At exactly the 50% mark of any task, it hits the same wall every time. How you fill that remaining 50% is what defines the product. Gridie's work isn't building flashier AI demos — it's raising that intern into a "well-trained accountant." Fifteen years of judgment calls from the accounting field, a real understanding of how Korean finance and accounting operations actually run, the instinct for what to check at every month-end close — only when all of this is translated into the system as rules and workflows does AI finally become a repeatable-work colleague you can hand responsibility to. That's why Gridie's real asset isn't the model itself. It's who has trained that intern, and on what depth of domain understanding — that's where Gridie makes the difference.

We don't replace the experts.

Gridie wasn't built to replace CFOs, finance staff, or accountants. Quite the opposite. Our role is to take 80% of the repetitive work — data cleanup and report generation — into the system, and give experts back the time for what they should actually be doing: judging, interpreting, and advising. For in-house finance teams, we provide real-time visibility to back decisions. For accountants looking into companies from the outside, we provide automation leverage to support more clients in more depth. The tool is the same, but the time it creates is worth something different in each seat. That's why we call ourselves "CFO infrastructure." Infrastructure doesn't sit in the foreground, but it's what makes higher-value work possible on top of it. Gridie lays that foundation underneath Korean companies' finance and accounting operations.

Set it up once, and it keeps running.

Good infrastructure shouldn't create new work for the people who use it. Gridie brings every necessary capability into one place, so that the person who sets it up and the people who operate it can be different people — and it still works. An AI-native workflow should be easy to configure and light to run. Automations written in code call for the code owner every time they run. AI chats need a new window every time. Spreadsheets fall apart on permissions and logic as they grow. Gridie is an autonomously operating asset that keeps running even when the person who set it up steps away. Only then can you call it infrastructure.

Who we are.

Gridie was started by a CPA who watched the finance and accounting work of countless companies up close for fifteen years. The person who has seen the problem from closest range decides the product's direction and priorities directly. Alongside is a bold lead engineer from Seoul National University. An engineer with both the ambition of "we'll solve a problem no one has solved yet" and the technical depth to turn that ambition into actual code. Fifteen years of field instinct, and the drive of a new generation. One side knows where the real problem is; the other knows how to turn that problem into a system. Gridie is a service that fuses field instinct with the latest AI.
